Drew Reinstein

Know Your Water Baja was founded by Drew Reinstein in 2024 in response to a growing local community curious about the water resources of Baja California Sur, and how to harness and filter for their own property. As a transplant himself to the area in 2020, Drew began with water testing and analysis, and by customer demand, expanded to provide filtration solutions, water usage and irrigation planning for his clients.
Drew’s background is of a man devoted to the water; his career began in waste water management, pivoted to working with the ocean as the owner of 2 Mile Surf shop, and has returned back to his roots with KYWB.
Drew was recruited out of college by one of the largest oil refineries in the world, to design and build their wastewater testing and bioassay lab in Point Richmond, California (USA). Drew ran the lab for over 20 years before taking early retirement, and is certified by California Department of Health Services, Department of Toxic Substance Control and the Environmental Protection Agency.
Drew continues to follow GLP and EPA guidelines for all water testing parameters he conducts. His analysis is based on decades of earned expertise, curiosity of new innovations, and appreciation for our most precious resource.
Based on the results of your test and site survey, Drew works together with a trusted plumbing & electrical team with over 25 years of local expertise to craft custom water usage & filtration plans that best compliment your household needs.
He lives in Pescadero, BCS. and can be found during office hours at The Co-Op Baja in Todos Santos beside Hablando Mexicano, and when he’s not working he’s tinkering in the garden, surfing the Pacific coastline, or sipping on coffee at favorites Taller 17, La Comuna, or Same Same but Different.

In early 2021, Drew had the incredible fortune of meeting and befriending Francisco & Flora. Originally from El Triunfo just North of Todos Santos, Francisco has been in Todos Santos and working with Flora, who was born and raised in Todos Santos for over two decades.
Given their close ties to the community, and deep connection to the area, they are incredible partners whose work exemplifies their collective attention to detail and doing the work correctly, once. Consumate plumbers and electricians, Paco collaborates on the plumbing design for water usage and filtration projects with Drew, while Flora’s specialty is the beautification of the installations for a clean and successful application every time.
When not onsite, they spend time together with their family and on their land cultivating incredible gardens. While not her official occupation, if you have garden questions, chances are Flora has answers!

Sam helped to instigate the formation of Know Your Water Baja thanks to a sensitive stomach and urging Drew to test their home water system.
After enhancing their own system following Drew’s informative test analysis, the consideration was made that perhaps others in the community would find a curated approach to water planning and usage on their property helpful.
Sam splits her time between KYWB and The Co-Op Baja with Drew, and helping to produce local community events like Gastrovino and Todos Santos Pescadero Culinary Experiences. She is also involved in community initiatives and programs like Los Cabos’ The Narrative Impact.
When not working, you can find her at the local wellness studios F.I.T, Aureo Wellness Journey and Cuatro Vientos, floating in the ocean or pool, and walking the beach with her fur babies Gus and Alice.
